Martin Tyler is a legend in the commentary box, with his recognisable voice having been heard by millions of fans around the world for the past 30 years. The veteran commentator, who was born in Chester, has been covering Premier League games for Sky Sports since 1991 when British Satellite Broadcasting merged with Sky. Tyler is also keen to point out that he does not have any biases in favour or against any Premier League team despite disgruntled fans voicing their opinions otherwise online. He has confirmed that he is a supporter of National League side Woking, who currently play in the fifth tier of English football. Tyler even joined Chester as a coach under the management of Alan Dowson in 2018, before leaving the Surrey-based club in 2022.
In 2003, Tyler was voted as the Premier League Commentator of The Decade by fans and a panel of experts. His career has also seen him commentate on games for the likes of ESPN, SBS and Premier League productions, as well as matches in the World Cup, European Championship and the Champions League. Despite his long career in football, Tyler has maintained that he does not have any biases in favour or against any Premier League team, and that his only allegiance is to Woking.
