Marseille in Talks to Sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham
French club Marseille has begun negotiations to secure the services of Tottenham and Denmark midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The 28-year-old is reportedly eager to leave North London and could be available for around £17 million.
Hojbjerg joined Tottenham in 2020 in a £15 million deal from Southampton, during Jose Mourinho’s tenure as manager. Although he made 39 appearances for the club last season, he started only 10 of those matches. Ange Postecoglou, the new Tottenham manager, preferred Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr in central midfield.
