Reports suggest that Crystal Palace goalkeeper Jack Butland, who is currently on loan at Manchester United, is in talks to sign for Rangers on a free transfer. Butland joined United in January as cover for David de Gea after Martin Dubravka was recalled by Newcastle from his loan spell at Old Trafford. However, the 30-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the club and is expected to be on the bench for the FA Cup final against Manchester City. With his Palace deal set to expire this summer, there was a possibility that he could sign for United, but it seems he is close to agreeing terms with Rangers instead. Once considered one of England’s top keepers, Butland’s stock fell after Stoke’s relegation in 2018. He joined Palace in 2020 but was unable to dislodge Vicente Guaita as the Eagles’ No.1.
