Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford Shine as England Beat Italy 3-1
England secured their place in the Euro 2024 tournament on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over Italy at Wembley. Harry Kane scored either side of a brilliant goal from Marcus Rashford, while Jude Bellingham was hugely influential in the victory, winning the penalty for Kane’s first and setting up Rashford for his strike.
Rashford was full of praise for Bellingham after the game, saying: “He’s an unbelievable player, not just his qualities, but he’s full of energy as well, he’s everywhere on the pitch. He’s defending, he’s attacking. A joy to play with. We hope that he can continue the form that he’s been in.”
The 20-year-old has been in sensational form all season and has been a major boost for the Three Lions. His performance against Italy was another example of his quality and England will be hoping he can keep it up for as long as possible.
Rashford himself was in good form against Italy and hopes that it will help him to find his best more often for Manchester United. “I feel like I am ready to kick on,” he said. “It is about winning as many games as possible for me, whether you start or are on the bench. When it is your moment you have to take it.”
