According to talkSPORT, Sheikh Jassim Bin Al Thani has submitted a bid of over £5 billion to purchase Manchester United, setting a new world record. The Qatari Sheikh submitted his third bid for the Red Devils in the third round of bidding, with the deadline set for 10 pm on Friday night. However, despite the staggering sum, the bid is still expected to fall short of the Glazer family’s £6 billion valuation. Sheikh Jassim has agreed to clear United’s debt and is confident his offer is the highest, but he faces competition from British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who has also launched a final bid. The Raine Group, who are handling the sale process, are expected to name their preferred bidder as early as next week.
