Manchester United have been hit by a Covid-19 outbreak, with their upcoming Premier League fixture against Brentford now under threat.

The Premier League have been informed that a ‘small number of players and staff’ have returned positive lateral flow tests, according to The Athletic.

Manchester United beat Norwich City 1-0 on Saturday and are due to face Brentford on Tuesday night.

But that fixture could not be postponed after the Old Trafford club was hit by a coronavirus outbreak.

United’s Premier League rivals Tottenham have had to postpone three fixtures due to an outbreak of Covid-19 in the Spurs squad.
