Manchester United could be up for sale with the Glazers reportedly exploring their options.
Sky News claims the Americans are ready to examine potential sources of outside investment, which includes the possibility of a full sale process.
It is understood investment bankers have been instructed to advise on the process, which could also result in a partial sale or a strategic partnership with third parties.
A statement from the club outlining the owners’ intentions is expected imminently.
The Glazers have been unpopular at Old Trafford ever since taking control with £500million of debt in 2005 and many supporters want the Americans gone amid a steady decline on the pitch since 2013.
Discontent among fans has reached new heights in recent seasons and Old Trafford has seen a number of protests.
