A furious Manchester United fan called talkSPORT to explain why he ‘wants Cristiano Ronaldo gone’ from the club this summer.
However, it appears he may not get his wish with the Ronaldo saga set to drag on.
The Portuguese star shocked supporters by revealing his hopes of leaving Old Trafford earlier this summer following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.
Despite making his intentions clear, the 37-year-old is currently in a state of limbo with no potential exit looking likely at any point in recent weeks.
With Man United getting their season underway against Brighton this weekend, fans are debating whether Ronaldo could be involved.
However, one Red Devil doesn’t want him anywhere near the squad.
“I want him gone,” Lewis the United fan told Kick Off.
“Look, he’s one of the greatest players ever, he’s a United legend and always will be, but he shouldn’t have come back last season.

“We shouldn’t have brought him back. Now he’s causing more problems, he clearly wants to go.
“If he stays, we know what we’re going to get. Yes, he’s going to score some goals, but we’re going to see the sulks, the strops when it’s not going well or he’s subbed or he’s dropped to the bench.
“We’re going to see that all through the season again. Just get rid of him. Let him go.
“It leaves us short, that’s the only catch because he is our one and only superstar, world class player and yeah, we do lose that glittering stardust because he is Ronaldo and he gets the world’s attention.
“What are we left with? Martial isn’t the answer. He’s been there seven years and he’s never going to be the answer, so he needs to go as well.
“The whole summer has been a mess. It’s been about chasing Frenkie de Jong who it doesn’t look like we’re going to get, the Ronaldo saga has been going on for weeks and we’re left with more or less the same rubbish 11 which has flopped under several managers for 5, 6 or 7 years. They’ve proven that they’re not up to the job.”
However, talkSPORT presenter Mark Goldbridge gave a clear reason why Ronaldo won’t be allowed to leave.
Taking to social media, the United Stand host replied to the fan: “Lewis might want to look at our forward options for Sunday with Martial injured…”
Martial is set to miss United’s Premier League opener against Brighton this weekend due to injury.
The French striker was due to start in the No.9 spot, but suffered a hamstring problem in last week’s pre-season friendly defeat to Atletico Madrid.
It means Ronaldo may start the game up front, despite Erik ten Hag previously insisting he was not match fit after missing the majority of the Red Devils’ pre-season campaign.
