Everton is reportedly interested in signing two Manchester United defenders as the Red Devils continue to pursue Jarrad Branthwaite. However, Everton is holding firm with their £70 million valuation of the 21-year-old English center-back. Despite this, there are potential transfer deals that could see players moving in the opposite direction.
One player that Everton is said to be interested in is Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The 26-year-old right-back joined Manchester United from Crystal Palace for £50 million in 2019 and initially impressed, leading the Premier League in tackles during his first season. However, his form has been inconsistent, and he has struggled with illness and injuries. Diogo Dalot has overtaken him in the pecking order, and Inter Milan has expressed interest in signing Wan-Bissaka for a cut-price fee of £13 million as he only has one year left on his contract. Galatasaray is also reportedly interested in the defender.
In addition to Wan-Bissaka, Everton manager Sean Dyche is said to be an admirer of Manchester United’s center-back Victor Lindelof. The 29-year-old Swede is free to leave the club this season as United looks to overhaul their squad. Lindelof’s contract was extended for another year in January to avoid losing him for free. Since joining United in 2017, Lindelof has had some shaky performances, and he could potentially be a candidate to replace Branthwaite if a deal is reached between the clubs.
While Everton remains firm on their valuation of Branthwaite, the potential transfer deals for Wan-Bissaka and Lindelof could provide Manchester United with an opportunity to negotiate. However, it remains to be seen if Everton will be willing to make any concessions in these potential deals.
