Manager blames transfer rumors for Rasmus Hojlund's form drop - Manchester United target

Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, and his manager Gian Piero Gasperini believes the speculation has cost him his form. Hojlund, who is in his first season in Serie A after moving from Sturm Graz last summer, scored in four consecutive games in January and netted five goals in two games for Denmark in European Championship qualifiers in March. However, he then went six Serie A games without scoring and was left on the bench for a win over Spezia earlier this month. Gasperini said that too many rumours distracted Hojlund and he also suffered an injury which hampered him. Recent reports suggest that Manchester United are keen on the Denmark international, and even if they signed a major target like Harry Kane, they would look to bring in Hojlund as well for around £40m.
