Man Utd’s transfer budget to increase by £50m with Sheikh Jassim’s takeover win

Manchester United’s summer transfer budget could receive a boost of around £50m if Sheikh Jassim outbids Sir Jim Ratcliffe to take control of the club. The Glazer family is said to be close to deciding who will take over the Old Trafford giants after putting the club up for sale seven months ago. While reports that Sheikh Jassim has had a bid accepted are said to be premature, his fifth bid has put him back in pole position. Ratcliffe’s bid would see at least two of the Glazer siblings stay on as shareholders and maintain United’s debt, while Jassim has vowed to instantly wipe the club’s debt.
