Manchester United Midfielder Casemiro Returns to Training After Injury
Manchester United has announced that midfielder Casemiro has returned to training after recovering from a serious hamstring injury he sustained while on international duty. The Brazilian player has started training on the pitch at Carrington, although it is unlikely that he will be back playing in the near future.
Training Progress
Casemiro was spotted training alone on the grass at Carrington while his teammates participated in a recovery session. The club statement confirmed his return to training and his ongoing recovery.
Missed Fixtures
Unfortunately, Casemiro’s return to the team comes too late for him to participate in important upcoming fixtures. He is set to miss the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich and the match against arch-rivals Liverpool. Manchester United is currently sixth in the Premier League, 10 points behind the league leaders.
Manager’s Relief
Reports suggest that manager Erik ten Hag has missed the influence of Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez in the dressing room. Their return will help alleviate some of the pressure on the manager, who has been facing discontent among the players.
Injury Concerns
While some players like Jonny Evans and Luke Shaw have returned to full fitness, Manchester United is still dealing with several other injury issues. Martinez, Christian Eriksen, and Mason Mount are among the players currently sidelined. Additionally, captain Bruno Fernandes will miss the upcoming match against Liverpool due to suspension.
However, there is some positive news as promising youngster Amad Diallo has returned to training after recovering from a lengthy knee injury.
