Manchester United Open to Selling Casemiro, Varane, Sancho, and Martial in January Transfer Window
Manchester United are reportedly willing to sell Casemiro, Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho, and Anthony Martial during the upcoming January transfer window. The club’s football director, John Murtough, has already traveled to Saudi Arabia to discuss potential player sales with representatives from the Saudi Pro League.
Sancho Expected to Leave
Jadon Sancho is widely expected to leave Manchester United next month after being excluded from the first team by manager Erik ten Hag in September. Both Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have expressed strong interest in signing the winger.
Opportunity to Secure a Transfer Fee for Martial
The January window represents Manchester United’s final opportunity to secure a transfer fee for Anthony Martial, as the 28-year-old can leave on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.
Casemiro, Varane, and Martial Open to Offers
While Manchester United is not forcing Casemiro, Varane, or Martial to leave Old Trafford, the club is willing to listen to offers for the trio. Casemiro, who was signed in a £70 million deal last year, has been limited to just 12 appearances this season due to an ankle injury. Varane, a big-money signing from Real Madrid, has struggled to secure a regular role in Ten Hag’s side.
Ten Hag’s Squad Strengthening Plans
Manager Erik ten Hag is keen to strengthen his squad in the upcoming window, but player sales are necessary to bolster Manchester United’s transfer budget. Ten Hag aims to recruit a new centre-back, midfielder, and striker to alleviate the pressure on Rasmus Hojlund, who has yet to score a Premier League goal in 13 appearances.
