Man Utd investor talks
Manchester United co-owner Avram Glazer has held talks with potential investors from Saudi Arabia and Qatar during a trip to Doha.
The Glazer family announced their intention to seek new investors for the club last month following a series of protests against them from United fans.
According to The Athletic, co-owner Avram has been speaking to candidates from the Middle East in recent weeks.
The Raine Group – the Red Devils’ financial adviser – is aiming for a full sale by the end of the first quarter of 2023, with the club expected to be priced between £6billion and £7b.
But Avram has insisted that negotiations are progressing nicely.
He told The Athletic: “It’s not necessarily a sale, it’s a process and we’re going forward with the process, so we’ll see what happens.
“That’s the update, it’s the process and the process is proceeding”
