Man Utd Reject £13m Bid for Midfielder

Fred Set to Leave Manchester United as Fenerbahce Launch £13m Bid

Manchester United midfielder Fred is set to leave Old Trafford this summer, with Turkish club Fenerbahce making a £13m bid for the Brazilian. The 30-year-old is available for transfer and Erik ten Hag is hoping to add another midfielder to his squad.

Fulham are interested in Fred but the concrete interest so far has come from Turkey, with Galatasaray already having an offer turned down and now Fenerbahce launching a £13m bid for his services, according to The Daily Mail. Manchester United have put an asking price of £20m on the former Shakhtar man so are unlikely to accept Fenerbahce’s offer and negotiations will continue.

The Mail’s report states that talks are continuing with Fulham, who have been interested in Fred all summer but are yet to make a bid. The Red Devils are keen to add a midfielder and a centre-back to their squad before the transfer window closes, but need to offload players before that happens. Harry Maguire is set to join West Ham after Manchester United accepted a £30m bid for the England defender, but deals are yet to be done for the likes of Fred and Donny van de Beek, although Real Sociedad are interested in the Dutchman.

In terms of targets for Erik ten Hag, in defence he wants either Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo or Bayern Muich’s Benjamin Pavard, both of which appear achievable after a deal was agreed for Maguire. United are continuing to pursue Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat with the Morocco international keen on a move but a breakthrough in negotiations slow to emerge.

What Does This Mean for Manchester United?

The departure of Fred would be a significant blow to Manchester United as they look to rebuild their squad this summer. The Brazilian has been a key player for the Red Devils since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018, making over 100 appearances for the club in all competitions.

However, with Erik ten Hag looking to bring in new players and Fred being available for transfer, it appears that his time at Old Trafford is coming to an end. The club have already accepted a bid from West Ham for Harry Maguire and are hoping to offload other players before bringing in new signings.

What Does This Mean for Fenerbahce?

Fenerbahce have been linked with Fred for some time and have now made a £13m bid for the midfielder. The Turkish club are keen to add quality players to their squad and Fred would certainly fit the bill. He has experience playing in Europe and would be a valuable addition to the team.

The club have already had an offer rejected by Manchester United and it remains to be seen if they will be able to agree on a fee. If they can, then it would be a major coup for Fenerbahce as they look to challenge for the title next season.

Conclusion

Fred looks set to leave Manchester United this summer, with Fenerbahce making a £13m bid for the Brazilian midfielder. The Red Devils are keen to add new players to their squad but need to offload players first before they can do so.

Fenerbahce have already had an offer rejected by Manchester United but are hoping to agree on a fee that will see Fred move to Turkey. It would be a major coup for the Turkish club if they can sign Fred and it could help them challenge for the title next season.
