Manchester United are reportedly willing to break their club record in order to sign Eduardo Camavinga. The 20-year-old midfielder joined Real Madrid in 2021 from Rennes for £26 million as a long-term replacement for Casemiro. Since Casemiro’s departure, Camavinga has enjoyed a more prominent role in the team and Madrid now reportedly want £115 million for him. According to Fichajes, Manchester United are willing to pay this fee for the talented Frenchman.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is keen to reinforce his squad’s midfield and Camavinga fits the bill perfectly. However, the report also states that Los Blancos have no interest in selling the six-cap France international. This means that Manchester United may have to look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements.

United’s summer plans are set to see them target Frenkie de Jong and a new forward as their priorities. Harry Kane, Tammy Abraham, and Victor Osimhen are the three strikers most heavily linked with the club. A new goalkeeper may also be in the works, with United linked to both Illan Meslier and David Raya as David De Gea’s contract runs down.

However, these plans could be dashed if the Glazers make a U-turn on their decision to sell the club. The Glazers have been under increasing pressure from fans to sell the club after their involvement in the failed European Super League project.

In other news, Real Madrid will play Liverpool in the Champions League last 16 second leg next Wednesday. They hold a three-goal advantage from the 5-2 drubbing at Anfield.

Overall, it remains to be seen whether Manchester United will be able to sign Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid. While they are reportedly willing to pay the £115 million fee, Madrid have no interest in selling him. Manchester United may have to look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements, but they have several other targets in mind for the summer transfer window.
