Monaco’s right-back Vanderson is a hot commodity this summer, with both Barcelona and Manchester United showing interest in signing the 21-year-old Brazilian. While Barcelona is keen on the young full-back, Manchester United has more financial power to secure his signature. Vanderson signed for Monaco from Gremio in January 2022 and has impressed in France, playing regularly in Ligue 1 and the Europa League this season. Reports suggest that Barcelona wants Vanderson but only at a price that suits them, while Manchester United is likely to offer more. The specific figures for an asking price have not been mentioned, but Monaco would want to make a big profit on the fee of around £10m they paid Gremio last year. Erik ten Hag, Manchester United’s manager, is also interested in adding a right-back to his squad this summer, with Ajax and Netherlands defender Jurrien Timber being another eye-catching 21-year-old on their wish-list.
