Manchester United are reportedly in talks to sign forwards Rasmus Hojland and Randal Kolo Muani if they fail to secure the services of Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur. Kane, who has one year left on his contract, is believed to be valued at £100 million by Spurs owner Daniel Levy. However, the England captain is said to prefer a move to Manchester United and may run down his contract if he cannot move this summer. With United struggling for goals outside of Marcus Rashford, signing a striker has become a priority for the club this transfer window.
According to reports, United boss Erik Ten Hag has held multiple calls with Hojland, 20, who shares the same transfer agency as the Dutch manager. The Danish forward has had an impressive debut season for Serie A side Atalanta, scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 33 appearances. He was also called up to the Danish national team, where he scored five goals in two games during Euro 2024 qualifying in March, including a hat-trick against rivals Finland.
United bosses have also reportedly held talks over signing Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani, 24, who has recorded 15 goals and 14 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances this season. However, his £68.7 million price tag makes Hojland the likelier of the two to sign for the Red Devils. Kolo Muani was one of the breakout stars of the Qatar World Cup and netted the third-fastest goal ever scored by a substitute at the tournament when he scored against Morocco in the semi-final. He also had a massive impact when he appeared as a substitute in the final, forcing a memorable save from Argentina keeper Emiliano Martinez when he looked certain to score the winner.
