Manchester United have decided against signing Bayern Munich star Marcel Sabitzer, with Erik ten Hag keen to recruit a younger midfielder. Sabitzer, who joined United on loan in January, impressed with his spirited displays before being ruled out of the remainder of the campaign due to a meniscus injury. Bayern are willing to offload the 29-year-old for an achievable asking price of around £18million, however, United have opted not to take up any option of signing him on a permanent basis. Ten Hag is fond of Sabitzer, but with United already having several players over the age of 28 in their midfield, he wants to lower the average age by signing a younger midfielder. The Red Devils are targeting Mason Mount, who has a year left on his Chelsea deal.
