Marcel Sabitzer: Could He Join Manchester United?
Manchester United have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer this summer. The Austrian joined the Red Devils in January in an emergency loan deal following injury to Christian Eriksen and impressed at Old Trafford, scoring three goals in 18 appearances. However, his loan deal expired on Friday as he returned to the Allianz Arena.
Sabitzer has made it clear that he would like to move to the Theatre of Dreams on a permanent basis and Bayern Munich have set an affordable £17m asking price to sign the midfielder. However, United are on the brink of signing Mason Mount from Chelsea for an initial £55m deal, which will further congest the midfield area.
Will Manchester United Sign Sabitzer?
At this point, Manchester United are not planning on signing Sabitzer. However, he could come into consideration if United get good offers for the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay. Fulham are keen on signing the Brazilian, who is going into the final year of his deal at Old Trafford, and United want £20m for him. McTominay is valued at around £30m and he’s attracted interest from West Ham and Newcastle. If United were able to raise around £50m through the sale of the duo, Sabitzer’s arrival would leave them with another £34m to spend.
