Jamie O’Hara thinks Manchester City would be ‘a better team’ if they had signed Harry Kane instead of Erling Haaland.
The Tottenham striker has been in sensational form this season, scoring 15 goals in 18 appearances in the Premier League, putting him second on the list of top flight scorers.
Of course, number one on the list is City sensation Haaland, who has bagged a staggering 21 goals in 16 appearances for the reigning champions.
At 22 years of age, the Norwegian striker is regarded as arguably the best attacker in world football, but according to former Spurs man O’Hara, Kane would actually be a better player for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast, O’Hara said: “I watch him all the time and I don’t know where Spurs would be without Harry Kane because he steps up every week.
“Everyone talks about Haaland this season because his goalscoring record has been unbelievable, but Harry Kane for Tottenham has been sensational as well.
“He’s almost scoring a goal a game. Every time he’s on the pitch he scores for us and he’s scoring all types of goals as well – the header he scored against Brentford was amazing, he’s bending them in and scoring from outside the box.
“I think he’s one of the best strikers in the world.
“I look at Haaland and I look at Man City, if Harry Kane played for Man City I think Man City would actually be a better team than they are now.
“I know Haaland scores loads of goals and it’s actually ridiculous, but for me, Harry Kane is actually a better player. I think he’s one of the best number nines and number 10s in the world.
“A lot of Man City fans are talking about how Haaland is so good, but they’re so reliant on him and that all he does is finish, but a few of them are saying we could be better here and there – if Harry Kane played for Man City they’d be a better team.”
Kane instead stayed at Tottenham and already has 15 Premier League goals this season.
He is also within one of Jimmy Greaves’ goal record of 266.
The Tottenham boss said: “I think to speak about Harry, I think a bit that we waste time to explain about the type of player that he is. I repeat, we are talking about a really world-class striker and he’s going to beat every record with the goals.
“For us he’s an important point of reference, not only for the goal but also on the pitch and with Hugo [Lloris] our captain. Especially in the difficult moments, Harry, you know that he is ready to fight, ready to help the teammates, ready to solve the situation with a goal, with an assist.
