Manchester City Star Chloe Kelly Trolls Manchester United with Drake Quote
Manchester City star Chloe Kelly couldn’t resist taking a dig at rivals Manchester United after her team’s derby victory. Kelly, who famously scored the winning goal for the Lionesses in the Euro 2022 final, quoted Drake in her post-match celebration.
Manchester City secured a memorable 3-1 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Goals from Jill Roord, Lauren Hemp, and Bunny Shaw sealed the victory for City.
Chloe Kelly expressed her delight at the win and took to social media to share a picture of herself shushing the crowd. In the caption, she quoted lyrics from Drake’s 2016 hit song ‘One Dance’, saying, “Never much love when we go OT” in reference to the match at Old Trafford.
Manchester United initially took the lead through Katie Zelem’s penalty, but City quickly turned the game around with goals from Roord and Hemp. A mistake from Red Devils goalkeeper Mary Earps allowed Shaw to score City’s third goal.
The victory moves Manchester City up to second place in the Women’s Super League standings, three points ahead of Manchester United but still six points behind leaders Chelsea.
Chloe Kelly will be back in action when Manchester City faces Leicester in the Women’s League Cup on Wednesday.
