Man City Players Celebrate Title Win, Kyle Walker Sends Message to Arsenal

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has praised Arsenal for their ‘fantastic’ season after the Gunners missed out on the Premier League title to the defending champions. Man City were crowned champions for the third successive season after Arsenal were beaten 1-0 by Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Despite leading the league for most of the campaign, Arsenal lost form at the worst possible moment, winning just two of their last eight games. Man City took advantage of this and won 11 league games in a row to secure the title.

Walker said: ‘Arsenal pushed us right to the limit they’ve been fantastic, so all credit to them. But we just went on an incredible run, they had a few hiccups and we capitalised on it and we’ve managed to end up where we have now. We wanted to prove anyone doubting us wrong – it wasn’t good enough. With the lads we have in the dressing room we always believe we can do something. The standards of Premier League have gone up, but this is what this club is built for, certainly that’s how it’s been for the six years I’ve been here, so fair play to everyone involved.’

The win also had significant repercussions at the bottom of the Premier League table as Nottingham Forest secured their survival and put even more pressure on relegation-battlers Everton, Leeds and Leicester. Walker said he will start enjoying the moment after their game against Chelsea on Sunday and that they have two massive games coming up to make history.
