Man City fight back to claim draw at Newcastle in thriller at St James’ Park as Pep Guardiola’s men extend club-record unbeaten away Premier League run

    Manchester City dug deep against Newcastle as they fought back from 3-1 down to claim a 3-3 draw in a thrilling clash at St James’ Park.

    The home side raced to a 3-1 lead with Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson netting in the first half, while Kieran Trippier scored a sublime free-kick early in the second.

    But quickfire goals from Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva spared City their first defeat of the season and extended their club-record unbeaten away run in the Premier League to 20 matches.

    Earlier, Ilkay Gundogan put Pep Guardiola’s men in front before Newcastle came roaring back.

    The match also saw Trippier receive a red card for a challenge on Kevin De Bruyne, however, the England defender was given a reprieve following a VAR review.

    Both sides could’ve won it having created many opportunities in what will be one of the most entertaining matches of the 2022/23 season.
