Erling Haaland breaks Premier League record with hat-trick against Fulham
Erling Haaland has broken another Premier League record after scoring a hat-trick in Manchester City’s 5-1 win over Fulham on Saturday.
Julian Alvarez opened the scoring for Pep Guardiola’s side before Tim Ream levelled it up for the west Londoners. Nathan Ake restored City’s lead just before half-time before Haaland popped up with three second-half goals to secure victory at the Etihad.
Haaland breaks record
It means that Haaland has become the fastest player to reach 50 goal involvements in the history of the Premier League. Haaland has now registered 42 goals and nine assists across 39 top-flight games, surpassing Andrew Cole, who got to 50 goal involvements in 43 matches.
The Norwegian striker has already broken numerous Premier League records since he moved to City last summer from Borussia Dortmund. Haaland scored more goals in a single Premier League season (36) than any other player in history – in what was his first campaign working under Guardiola last term.
He also became the first Premier League player ever to score hat-tricks in three consecutive home games.
City flying high
Haaland helped City win a historic treble last season and Guardiola’s side have made a flying start to the new 2023-24 campaign. City sit at the top of the table having won all four of their Premier League matches, scoring 11 goals and conceding just twice.
Conclusion
Erling Haaland continues to break records in the Premier League and is showing no signs of slowing down. His hat-trick against Fulham was his latest impressive performance and helped Manchester City to another victory in their pursuit of a second consecutive league title.
