Tottenham Star James Maddison Reveals Hilarious Christmas Party Mishap
James Maddison, the talented midfielder who recently joined Tottenham Hotspur from Leicester City in a £45 million transfer, has shared an amusing story about a Christmas party mishap involving his former teammate Marc Albrighton. Maddison, 26, made an appearance on the popular TV show A League of Their Own and recounted the incident.
Maddison explained that Albrighton, a key member of Leicester’s 2016 Premier League-winning squad and their FA Cup triumph in 2021, was responsible for collecting money from the players as penalty fines. This money was typically used for their Christmas party. However, when Albrighton went on loan to West Brom last season, he took the collected funds with him, leaving the team without their festive celebration.
Maddison jokingly called out Albrighton on camera, expressing his desire for the money to be returned so they could have their long-awaited night out. Albrighton has since returned to the Leicester squad following their relegation, and with the team currently leading the Championship, another Christmas party may be in the works.
Despite the humorous incident, Maddison’s time at Tottenham has been off to a strong start. However, he recently suffered an injury during Tottenham’s 4-1 defeat to Chelsea. Fans will be eagerly awaiting his return to the pitch and hoping for more entertaining stories from the talented midfielder.
