Luton Town Sign Experienced Goalkeeper Tim Krul from Norwich City
Luton Town have made their tenth signing of the summer, bringing in Netherlands goalkeeper Tim Krul from Norwich City. The 35-year-old brings a wealth of Premier League experience to the newly-promoted side, having spent six seasons with Newcastle United in the top flight.
Krul has been an outstanding servant for Norwich City, having made 169 appearances over five seasons and twice winning the Championship with the Canaries. He is also an international goalkeeper, having earned 15 caps for his country, the Netherlands.
Krul will compete with Belgian Thomas Kaminski for the number one spot at Kenilworth Road, who arrived this summer from Blackburn Rovers.
With Krul departing Carrow Road, Norwich City have signed George Long on a free transfer from Millwall to provide support for Scotland keeper Angus Gunn. Long spent two seasons at The Den and played 37 Championship games last season for Millwall.
Speaking about Krul’s departure, Norwich City sporting director Stuart Webber told the club’s website: “Tim has been an outstanding servant for Norwich City. He has been a top class goalkeeper and leader during his time with the club.”
Krul’s arrival at Luton Town marks a new chapter in his career and adds another layer of experience to the newly promoted Premier League side’s squad as they look to make their mark on the top flight this season.
With the signing of Tim Krul, Luton Town have added another experienced goalkeeper to their ranks and are well placed to make an impact in the Premier League this season.
