Luton Enlists Top Agency to Break Deadlock in Oscar Zambrano Negotiations
Luton Town Football Club has sought the assistance of a reputable agency in an effort to resolve the ongoing stalemate surrounding the transfer of Oscar Zambrano. The club’s officials have been pursuing the Ecuadorian defensive midfielder for several weeks, but have been unable to reach an agreement on the transfer fee due to disagreements over add-ons and extras.
Zambrano, a promising 19-year-old talent who currently plays for LDU Quito, is entitled to receive 15% of the potential £5.5 million fee. However, his club is requesting that he waive this percentage. While Zambrano is eager to make the move to Luton, his club’s demands exceed what the club is willing to pay.
To facilitate the negotiations, Luton Town has turned to a professional agency to mediate and find common ground. Zambrano, who shares a similar playing style with Moises Caicedo, a player who was discovered in Ecuador and later sold to Chelsea for a record-breaking £115 million, came through the same football academy as Caicedo. He previously had a trial at Ajax a couple of years ago and is now determined to make his mark in Europe.
Luton’s chief scout, Phil Chapple, traveled to South America in October to initiate discussions with Zambrano. The club hopes that recruiting Zambrano will bolster their chances of survival in the league and is eager for the agency to swiftly finalize the transfer fee and negotiate personal terms.
In their most recent match, Luton suffered a 2-3 home defeat against Chelsea, leaving them in 19th place in the table. With 15 points from 19 matches, they are currently one point away from safety, with 18th-place Everton having a game in hand. The team will next compete in the FA Cup against Bolton Wanderers before returning to Premier League action with an important match against relegation rivals Burnley on January 15.
