Liverpool winger Harvey Blair is set to go out on loan this month, with interest from clubs in England, Denmark, and Belgium. Blair’s previous loan move fell through due to injury, but now that he has recovered and made appearances for Liverpool U21s this season, a loan departure seems likely.
According to a report by Lewis Steele in the Mail, League One side Blackpool is highly interested in signing Blair on a half-season deal. The club has been monitoring Blair for some time and is keen to secure his services. However, they are not the only ones interested, as Leyton Orient and Reading are also keeping track of the young player.
Clubs in Denmark and Belgium are also said to be keeping tabs on Blair. He made his surprise debut for the Liverpool first team in a 2-0 victory over Preston in the Carabao Cup fourth round in 2021. Despite starting that match and playing 55 minutes, Blair has not had many opportunities with Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Blair won’t be the only Liverpool player leaving on loan in January. Fabio Carvalho is reportedly close to joining Hull City, while Owen Beck, Rhys Williams, and James Balagizi have been recalled from their loan spells. Nat Phillips’ loan at Celtic has expired.
There is speculation that Calvin Ramsay could also be recalled, as he has been left out of the squad for the last six games at Preston. Jakub Ojrzynski’s spot at Den Bosch could also be in question, as the Dutch side has signed West Ham goalkeeper Krisztian Hegyi on loan.
Liverpool is considering whether to retain Phillips for the rest of the season, while Beck is expected to stay as left-back cover. Williams is likely to go out on loan again, and other players like Luke Chambers, Tom Hill, Melkamu Frauendorf, Vitezslav Jaros, and Paul Glatzel could also find new clubs.
