Europa League Football Returns to Anfield as Liverpool Host Union SG

It’s been four years since Anfield hosted a Europa League match, but tonight the wait is over as Liverpool take on Belgian side Union SG. We’re live to bring you the latest from the match.

Team News

Liverpool have named a strong side for tonight’s match, with Alisson in goal and Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Quansah and Tsimikas making up the back four. Endo, Elliott and Gravenberch will form the midfield, while Salah, Jota and Nunez will lead the attack.

The Reds have a strong bench to call upon if needed, with Jaros, Mrozek, Van Dijk, Matip, Gomez, Robertson, Chambers, Mac Allister, Jones, Szoboszlai, Diaz and Doak all available.

Union SG have also named a strong side, with Moris in goal and Mac Allister, Burgess and Machida making up the back four. Castro-Montes, Amani, Vanhoutte, Puertas and Terho will form the midfield, while Nilsson and Amoura lead the attack.

The Belgian side have a number of options on the bench if needed, with Imbrechts, Wenssens, Rasmussen, Eckert, Lapoussin, Teklab, Rodriguez, Sykes, Sadiki, Huygevelde and Leysen all available.

Liverpool come into this match off the back of a 3-0 win over Arsenal in the Premier League at the weekend. Jurgen Klopp’s side have been in excellent form this season and will be looking to continue their impressive run of results with a win tonight.

Union SG have had a mixed start to their season but have been in good form of late. They come into this match off the back of a 2-1 win over KV Mechelen in the Belgian First Division A and will be looking to cause an upset against the Premier League champions.

This is sure to be an exciting match between two sides who are both capable of playing some attractive football. It promises to be an entertaining affair and one that Liverpool will be looking to win.
