Jurgen Klopp Makes Nine Changes for Liverpool’s Trip to Tottenham
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made nine changes to his team ahead of the Reds’ trip to Tottenham in the Premier League. With midweek and weekend matches, Klopp has consistently freshened up his squad and today is no different. However, it is still too soon for Trent Alexander-Arnold to start.
Liverpool’s Starting XI
Alisson will be hoping to clinch only his second clean sheet of the season on his return to the side. Joe Gomez continues at right-back, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson also start to form the back four. In midfield, Alexis Mac Allister continues as the No. 6 with Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones sitting alongside – the latter only one of two retained from midweek.
Mohamed Salah can net a ninth against Spurs and is back in the XI after sitting out completely on Wednesday, joining Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo up front.
Liverpool’s Substitutes
Alexander-Arnold is fit enough for the bench and will be an option for the manager, as will Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota. Kelleher, Konate, Tsimikas, Alexander-Arnold, Endo, Elliott, Gravenberch, Jota, and Nunez are all listed as substitutes.
Tottenham’s Starting XI
Tottenham’s starting XI includes Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Richarlison. Forster, Royal, Phillips, Davies, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Solomon, Veliz, and Donley are all listed as substitutes.
What to Expect From Liverpool’s Trip to Tottenham
This match will act as another test of Liverpool’s early season mettle. The Reds have been in good form so far this season and will be looking to continue their strong start. Tottenham are also in good form and will be looking to take advantage of any weaknesses in Liverpool’s lineup. It should be an exciting match with plenty of chances for both teams.
Klopp will be hoping that his nine changes pay off and that his team can come away with a positive result. It will be interesting to see how the new players perform and if they can help Liverpool secure a win. Either way, it should be an exciting match with plenty of goals.
