Liverpool Take On Bayern Munich in Singapore Pre-Season Friendly

Liverpool’s pre-season continues with a meeting with Bayern Munich in Singapore this afternoon. The two European giants will face off at the Singapore National Stadium, with kickoff set for 12.30pm (UK).

The Reds have had a mixed pre-season so far, with wins over Stuttgart and Salzburg, but a defeat to RB Leipzig. Jurgen Klopp’s side will be looking to build on their performances against the German champions, and will be hoping to come away with a positive result.

Liverpool Team News

Liverpool have named a strong starting lineup for the match, with Alisson in goal and a back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson. Curtis Jones, Lucas Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai will make up the midfield, while Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Gakpo will lead the attack.

On the bench, Adrian, Kelleher, Mrozek, Gomez, Konate, Quansah, Tsimikas, Scanlon, McConnell, Elliott, Frauendorf, Clark, Diaz, Nunez, Doak and Koumas are all available for selection.

Bayern Munich Team News

Bayern Munich have also named a strong side for the match. Yann Sommer starts in goal, with Benjamin Pavard, Kimmich, Dayot Upamecano and Alphonso Davies making up the back four. Corentin Tolisso and Christopher Laimer will start in midfield, while Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry will provide the attacking threat.

The Bavarians have plenty of options on the bench too, with Ulreich, Hulsmann, De Ligt, Sarr, Coman, Goretzka, Gravenberch, Mazraoui, Kratzig, Stanisic, Pavlovic, Ibrahimovic, Tikvic all available for selection.

What to Expect

This match promises to be an entertaining affair between two of Europe’s top sides. Liverpool have looked impressive in pre-season so far and will be looking to continue their good form against Bayern Munich. The German champions have also had a good pre-season so far and will be looking to make it three wins out of three against the Reds.

Both teams have plenty of quality in their squads and it should be an exciting match. Liverpool will be looking to take advantage of their home advantage and come away with a positive result.
