On Saturday, Liverpool will debut their new Nike home kit for the 2023/24 season when they take on Aston Villa in their final home game of the 2022/23 season. The kit, which was unveiled earlier in May, is inspired by the 1965 FA Cup winning kit, as well as a nod to the Reebok kit of 1998/99 and 1999/00. It is now available for purchase at the official LFC store.
The Reds did not debut their kit last time out due to reaching the Champions League final, meaning they wore their home kit in both the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid and the Premier League closer against Wolves. The same happened in 2019/20 when Liverpool won the title, as well as 2018/19 as they prepared for their second Champions League final under Jurgen Klopp.
Saturday’s game will also be an emotional one for Liverpool fans, as it will be the last time four players – Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – will be seen in a Reds shirt before their contracts expire.
Captain Jordan Henderson said of the new kit: “The new home shirt is a classic. Given the inspiration behind the design it feels iconic and a nod to the history of this great club. We’re looking forward to wearing it at Anfield for the Villa game.”
Be sure to buy your new kit at the official LFC store before Saturday’s game!
