Liverpool Football Club is keeping fans in suspense as they are yet to reveal their alternate kits for the upcoming 2024/25 season. However, the club recently unveiled a new goalkeeper kit during an overseas fixture.
Last season, Liverpool wore their home kit, which featured a striking red design with yellow pinstripes, on the final day of the campaign. For the new season, goalkeeper Alisson showcased his new black kit with an all-over pattern that aligns with Nike’s new Gardien V template for 2024/25.
While the away and third kits for the upcoming season are yet to be unveiled, another goalkeeper kit has already been spotted. Youngster Kornel Misciur wore an all-green kit, based on the same template as the home kit, during Liverpool U19s’ opening clash of the Bundesliga Cup in Germany. Misciur, who had been training with the first team during the early weeks of pre-season, started in the match against Hoffenheim.
The decision to wear the alternate green goalkeeper kit was made because Hoffenheim was wearing their traditional blue home kit. This green kit is expected to accompany Liverpool’s away kit upon its release.
Liverpool’s youth squad is currently in Schwabisch Hall, a city in southern Germany, participating in the Bundesliga Cup. It’s worth noting that they are the only non-German team taking part in the tournament. They will face youth sides from clubs such as Eintracht Frankfurt and St Pauli on Saturday. Other teams involved in the competition include Spf Schwabisch Hall, Stuttgart, Schalke, and Hertha Berlin. The tournament will conclude with a knockout stage on Sunday.
After the Bundesliga Cup, Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s team will head to Bayern Munich’s youth facility for a training camp. They have also scheduled a friendly match against Bayern Munich’s youngsters.
In conclusion, Liverpool fans eagerly await the unveiling of the club’s alternate kits for the 2024/25 season. In the meantime, the new goalkeeper kits have already made an appearance, with Alisson donning a black kit and Kornel Misciur wearing an all-green kit. The team is currently participating in the Bundesliga Cup, testing their skills against German youth sides. After the tournament, they will continue their preparations with a training camp at Bayern Munich’s facility, including a friendly match against the club’s young players.
