Despite their 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool have ‘nothing to do’ with the Premier League top four. The Reds are currently seventh, six points behind fourth-placed Newcastle United, with seven games left to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Klopp spoke of the difficulty of the game against a low block, and how the goals came from set pieces. He was pleased with the three points, but is aware of the tough challenge ahead with West Ham next.
The manager also praised Diogo Jota for his massive chance from a set-piece, and spoke of the importance of having a positive start to the game. He believes that this is key to controlling the match.
Fabinho has recently offered his opinion on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s new midfield role at Liverpool, while Klopp has also explained why he is benching an ‘exceptional’ star.
