Liverpool Turns Attention to Fluminense Midfielder Andre Amidst Struggles to Sign Romeo Lavia

Liverpool FC is currently facing challenges in their pursuit of Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, and as a result, they have shifted their focus to Fluminense midfielder Andre. The Reds are in the process of rebuilding their midfield after several key players departed this summer, including Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

Despite making two bids for Lavia, both of which were rejected by Southampton, Liverpool has not been able to meet the Saints’ asking price of £50 million for the talented teenager. As a result, the club has identified other targets, with Andre being one of them. According to Sky Sports, Liverpool has initiated contact with Fluminense and hopes to secure the 22-year-old Brazilian for around £21 million.

While no official bid has been made yet, talks have begun between the two clubs, and Andre is reportedly eager to make the switch to Anfield. The midfielder has already made over 100 appearances for Fluminense and made his debut for the Brazilian national team earlier this year in a friendly against Senegal.

Andre would be a more affordable option compared to Lavia, but Liverpool still considers the Southampton prospect as their first choice to fill the holding midfield role vacated by Fabinho. The departure of Fabinho and Henderson, along with the exits of Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner at the end of their contracts, has left a significant void in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

To partially address this issue, Liverpool has already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. However, the club is determined to make at least one more midfield signing before the start of the Premier League season.

In addition to their pursuit of Andre, Liverpool has been making headlines with other transfer news. Former Liverpool player Dietmar Hamann has urged a current Liverpool star to consider joining either Arsenal or Manchester City. Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has expressed his surprise at Sadio Mane’s failed move to Bayern Munich as the Liverpool legend prepares for his transfer to the Saudi Pro League.

In conclusion, Liverpool FC is facing difficulties in securing a deal for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia and has turned their attention to Fluminense midfielder Andre. The Reds are determined to strengthen their midfield ahead of the upcoming Premier League season after the departure of key players. While Andre presents a more affordable option, Liverpool still considers Lavia as their first choice. The club continues to make headlines with other transfer news, including former player Dietmar Hamann’s advice and Jurgen Klopp’s surprise at Sadio Mane’s failed move.
