Andy Robertson Suffers Shoulder Injury During Scotland’s Euro 2024 Qualifier Against Spain
Liverpool defender Andy Robertson suffered a shoulder injury during Scotland’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Spain on Thursday evening.
Robertson was forced off shortly before time after colliding with Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon. Robertson and Simon were both jumping for the ball when the Spain goalkeeper landed directly on top of Robertson. The Liverpool left-back required immediate treatment from Scotland’s medical staff and his right arm was placed in a makeshift sling with his shift as he left the pitch.
Scotland’s Euro 2024 Qualifying Campaign
Scotland, who are on the brink of qualifying for Euro 2024 next summer, are due to play France in a friendly next Tuesday. Robertson has completed all eight of Liverpool’s Premier League games so far as Jurgen Klopp’s side sit fourth in the Premier League and three points off top spot.
Ben Doak Credits Robertson with Keeping Him Grounded
Speaking before Scotland’s clash with Spain, Liverpool winger Ben Doak credited Robertson with keeping him ‘grounded’. ‘He’s done everything in the game,’ Doak said. ‘He’s won everything. He keeps me grounded. I was with them [the first team] a little bit last season, but now I’m properly training with them every day and just trying to learn from them all because some of them are the best in the world.’
