Liverpool Reportedly Considering Former Everton Player for Coaching Role; Nat Phillips Bid Rejected

Date:

Liverpool’s search for a new coach has led them to consider former Everton player Johnny Heitinga, according to a report by James Pearce from The Athletic. Arne Slot, the current coach, is working to assemble a complete backroom team, and Heitinga is being considered to join them at Anfield. Heitinga has confirmed that talks are ongoing, stating that he and his agent are in conversation with Liverpool.

In other news, Liverpool has swiftly rejected a £4 million bid from Trabzonspor for Nat Phillips. The club values Phillips highly and would require a record fee to let him go. Meanwhile, Barcelona is confident that they can afford Luis Diaz this summer, raising questions about what this could mean for Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah was set to be Egypt’s Olympic flag bearer this summer but was denied the opportunity due to his call-up. Divock Origi, a former Liverpool hero, has been forced to train with AC Milan’s youth team, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic stated that he is “not part of the first team project.”

Goalkeeper Adrian bid farewell to Liverpool in a touching video, suggesting that something should be added to the “seven wonders of the world” in honor of his time at the club.

Liverpool is also making moves in the transfer market, with rumors suggesting they are close to signing Chelsea academy player Rio Ngumoha. This potential deal would break Liverpool’s wage structure. Additionally, PSV Eindhoven is interested in signing Sepp van den Berg from Liverpool, hoping that the Reds lower their asking price.

Cody Gakpo expressed caution ahead of the Euro 2024 semi-finals between England and the Netherlands, particularly highlighting the threat posed by Jude Bellingham. Marc Guehi and Luke Shaw are both pushing to start for England in the same match against a Dutch outfit heavily influenced by Liverpool players.

Bayern Munich has completed the signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace on a five-year deal.

Lastly, Liverpool fans have been paying tribute to Thiago following his retirement from football. Fans have been praising his skills and referring to him as “elite” and someone who “had it all.”

To end on a lighter note, a memorable rendition of “Poor Scouser Tommy” was performed at Jurgen Klopp’s BOSS Night leaving event, adding a touch of nostalgia to the day before his last match.
