Al Ittihad’s £150 Million Bid for Mohamed Salah Rejected by Liverpool
Al Ittihad, a Saudi Pro League side, has had their £150 million bid for Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah rejected. However, they are planning to return with a second offer of around £175 million to sign the Egyptian winger.
Al Ittihad is willing to increase their offer in an attempt to change Liverpool’s mind before the 11pm deadline tonight. The Saudi Pro League window is open until 7 September, giving them more time to negotiate.
Mohamed Salah, who has scored an impressive 187 goals in 307 appearances for Liverpool since 2017, still has two years left on his current contract. Despite this, Al Ittihad remains determined to secure his services.
Liverpool has consistently stated that they have no intention of selling Salah. Manager Jurgen Klopp reiterated this stance during a press conference on Friday, saying, “The position remains the same, absolutely. There’s no doubt about that. He cannot go, that’s how it is. So there’s nothing else to say.”
When asked if an offer had been submitted, Klopp responded, “Not as far as I know, but that doesn’t mean a lot, to be honest.”
It has also been revealed that if Liverpool were to accept a bid for Salah from Al Ittihad, he would earn a salary similar to that of Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr.
Managed by former Wolves and Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo, Al Ittihad is expected to make another attempt to sign Salah next summer if a deal does not materialize this time.
Liverpool has already seen three players leave Anfield for the Middle East this summer, including Fabinho, former captain Jordan Henderson, and Roberto Firmino. In contrast, they have made three signings so far, bringing in Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, and Wataru Endo.

Despite Al Ittihad’s persistent pursuit of Mohamed Salah, Liverpool remains firm in their decision not to sell the talented winger. With his exceptional goal-scoring record and two years left on his contract, Salah is a crucial player for Liverpool’s success. Only time will tell if Al Ittihad’s increased offer will be enough to change Liverpool’s stance.
