Liverpool Manager Confirms Star Player’s Return for FA Cup Clash Against Man Utd
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has provided an update on the team’s injury situation ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final clash against Manchester United. While there are concerns over the fitness of Ibrahima Konate, Klopp has been boosted by the return of Ryan Gravenberch to training.
Konate, who was withdrawn from Liverpool’s first-leg Europa League tie with Sparta Prague last week, is not expected to be fit for the upcoming FA Cup match. He has missed the previous game against Manchester City as well as the Europa League second leg. Klopp revealed at his pre-match press conference that Konate has not trained and it is unlikely that he will be able to train the next day.
On the other hand, Gravenberch, who has been sidelined for the past five games after being stretchered off in the Carabao Cup final, has returned to training. Klopp confirmed that the central midfielder trained and is ready for the upcoming match.
Liverpool has been dealing with a number of injuries to key players, but Klopp remains hopeful that some familiar names will be able to return for the game against Brighton after the international break. Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, and Trent Alexander-Arnold all have a chance to be fit for the Brighton match.
However, Klopp also mentioned that Stefan Bajcetic is feeling something but it is not an injury, rather an issue with intensity. The team does not want to rush him back before he is fully ready. Bajcetic will join team training after the international break.
In Klopp’s final season at Liverpool, the team is looking to keep alive their hopes of a quadruple. They have already secured a commanding 11-2 aggregate victory against Sparta Prague in the Europa League and will now face Atalanta in the quarter-finals.
With Liverpool managing with depleted numbers due to injuries, the return of Gravenberch will be a welcome boost for the team. Klopp will be hoping for a positive result against Manchester United in the FA Cup and will continue to monitor the fitness of his players as they strive for success in multiple competitions.
