Liverpool Assistant Manager Pep Lijnders Acknowledges Dominik Szoboszlai’s Dip in Form
Liverpool assistant manager, Pep Lijnders, has admitted that midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has experienced a decline in form after an impressive start to his career at Anfield. However, Lijnders remains confident that Szoboszlai will soon regain his best form due to his strong work ethic at the AXA Training Centre.
Szoboszlai quickly established himself as a key creative player in Liverpool’s revamped team following his £60 million transfer from RB Leipzig in the summer. However, his influence has waned recently, as evident by his early substitution during the match against Manchester United on Sunday.
When asked about Szoboszlai’s recent performances, Lijnders commented, “He’s only 22 years old, still very young. We are delighted that he has already made an impact. We know what he is capable of. The only way for him to return to his previous standards is to work harder, train better, and improve. I’m not suggesting that he isn’t doing that already, but he needs to maintain his dedication.”
Lijnders emphasized Szoboszlai’s determination to contribute and be a vital part of the team. He believes that as long as Szoboszlai maintains this mindset and the team around him remains stable, he will regain his best form.
“We have already witnessed his capabilities, which are crucial for us. Last year, there were calls for us to revamp our midfield and bring in new players. Now that we have new additions, it is natural to experience challenging phases and fewer standout moments throughout the season. Nevertheless, we are extremely pleased to have him with us,” Lijnders added.
In conclusion, while Szoboszlai may be going through a dip in form, Liverpool’s coaching staff remains confident in his abilities and expects him to bounce back soon. They appreciate his dedication and recognize the importance of his contributions to the team.
