Lionel Messi Saudi Arabia Deal: £522m

Date:

Reports have emerged that Lionel Messi’s move to Saudi club Al-Hilal is a ‘done deal’, with the Argentine superstar set to sign a contract worth £522 million. Messi, 35, is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer when his contract expires, after the French club suspended him for an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner joined PSG two years ago on a free after reluctantly leaving Barcelona due to their financial issues. He signed a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 giants with an option for another year, but is now set to join Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi league. Ronaldo currently plays for Al-Hilal’s rivals Al-Nassr, which will see the Portugal hero battle his old foe Messi once again next season if the move is confirmed. Messi is still at the top of his game having registered 20 goals and 19 assists for PSG this term, and has scored 703 times and made 337 assists across 849 games for both Barcelona and PSG.
