Supercomputer Predicts Liverpool’s Position in the Premier League for 2023/24 Season
As the Premier League season reaches its one-third mark, a supercomputer has analyzed the data and made predictions for Liverpool’s final position in the 2023/24 season.
Promising Start for Liverpool
Liverpool has had a strong start to their campaign, currently sitting just two points behind Arsenal in the top spot. They have also made progress in both the League Cup and Europa League with a rotated side.
Supercomputer Prediction
According to Opta Analyst’s ‘Season Simulation’ tool, Liverpool is on track to finish as runners-up in the league table. The statistics suggest that they have a 12.3% chance of winning their 20th league title in the 2023/24 season. However, it is predicted that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will claim the top spot with a 75.6% chance.
Arsenal’s Title Chances and Aston Villa’s Impressive Start
Despite currently leading the league, Arsenal has been given an 11% chance of ending their 20-year wait for a league title. The supercomputer predicts that they will finish in third place. Aston Villa, under Unai Emery’s management, is forecasted to secure the final spot in the top four after an impressive start to their campaign.
Champions League Spots
With the expansion of the Champions League from next season, there is a possibility that five English teams could compete in the competition in 2024/25. According to Opta, Newcastle is expected to secure a spot in Europe’s elite club competition for the second consecutive year after a long hiatus.
Disappointing Projection for Man United
On the other hand, the supercomputer’s projections are not favorable for Manchester United, as they are predicted to finish as low as eighth in the league.
Relegation Candidates
At the bottom of the table, Luton, Sheffield United, and Burnley are the teams projected to face relegation. This would mark the first time in this century that all three promoted teams drop straight back down.
