Leeds collapse at Southampton and sweat on Patrick Bamford injury, Aleksandar Mitrovic misses Fulham penalty in Wolves draw, Brighton and Newcastle stalemate

Leeds had an afternoon to forget as they threw away a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw at Southampton.

The Whites lost Patrick Bamford to another injury early on, but looked set to claim three points after two goals from Rodrigo.

However, Joe Aribo and Kyle Walker-Peters struck for the hosts to ease pressure on manager Ralph Hasenhuttl following the opening 4-1 defeat at Tottenham.

Elsewhere, Aleksandar Mitrovic went from hero to zero by missing a penalty in Fulham’s 0-0 draw at Wolves.

After two goals in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool, one of them from the spot, the Serbia striker fluffed his lines from 12 yards in the 81st minute.

Both teams are still looking for their first win and it is a particularly alarming start for Wolves, who were beaten by Leeds on the opening day.

Fulham, however, will take solace from avoiding defeat in their first two matches since promotion from the Championship.

And there was another goalless draw at the Amex Stadium as Brighton and Newcastle.

The two sides, who both started with victories last week, proved evenly-matched during an uneventful encounter on the south coast.

Arsenal and Man City both won comfortably against Leicester and Bournemouth respectively – and you can read about those matches in detail here.
