Leeds captain Liam Cooper wears noise cancelling headphones with mascot to walk out at Tottenham Stadium – ‘Our skipper’

Leeds captain Liam Cooper was praised for joining his mascot in wearing noise cancelling headphones as they walked out at Tottenham.

Spurs ended up snatching all three points in a seven-goal thriller in north London on Saturday afternoon – but the Leeds skipper definitely won the most wholesome moment of the match.

As the centre-back prepared to lead his side, footage from the tunnel showed him wearing headphones – the exact same pair his mascot was also wearing.

They held hands as they walked out onto the pitch.

The Leeds skipper then kept the headphones on as the away side lined up to shake the opposition’s hands.

And Cooper’s gesture didn’t go unnoticed, as praise for the defender poured out across social media.

“Our captain,” Leeds United’s Trust wrote.

“Showcasing how we make football inclusive for all.”

Another fan wrote: “Liam Cooper has the hand of a mascot who is wearing noise cancelling headphones.

“So Cooper is wearing headphones too. Which is fantastic.”

Leeds had led Spurs three times at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But it was the home side who were victorious in the end, with Rodrigo Bentancur scoring two quick fire goals to stun Jesse Marsch’s team and win it for Antonio Conte.
