Former Arsenal player Lee Dixon has expressed doubts over the club’s reported interest in West Ham midfielder Declan Rice. While Rice has been touted as a priority target for Arsenal in the upcoming transfer window, Dixon believes that the club will not be willing to meet West Ham’s valuation of over £100 million for the 24-year-old. Dixon also suggested that Rice may be a “smokescreen” for another midfield target, and that Arsenal may have alternatives in mind. He praised Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo as a potential alternative to Rice, saying that he is a “really good player” who fits in with Brighton’s model of replacing sold players.
