Asmir Begovic, the former goalkeeper for Chelsea, has disclosed the reason behind his departure from Stamford Bridge. The Bosnian player was transferred to the Blues in 2015 for a sum of £8 million from Stoke. During his two-year tenure at Chelsea, Begovic made 33 appearances and won a Premier League title. However, he recently revealed that he had to leave the club to get more playing time. In an interview with Ben Foster for the Fozcast Podcast, Begovic stated that he found it difficult not playing as many games and that it was too early in his career. Nonetheless, he appreciated the training and leadership at Chelsea and the opportunity to compete for trophies and play in Europe. He also learned how to be a team player and sacrifice personal goals for the team’s common objective. After leaving Chelsea, Begovic joined Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee and is now playing as a backup to Jordan Pickford at Everton.
