Manchester United Women’s team continued their impressive form in the Women’s Super League on Sunday, as they thrashed Brighton & Hove Albion 4-0 to stay top of the table. Leah Galton was the star of the show, scoring twice in the victory.
The Red Devils started brightly, with Galton opening the scoring in the 13th minute. The forward latched onto a through ball and slotted it past the goalkeeper to give her side the lead. United continued to dominate and doubled their advantage shortly after, as Galton scored her second of the game with a composed finish.
The hosts continued to press and eventually made it 3-0 in the second half, with Ella Toone adding her name to the scoresheet. The midfielder picked up the ball on the edge of the box and fired a powerful effort into the back of the net. United then added a fourth late on, as Kirsty Hanson rounded off a convincing victory.
The result sees Manchester United remain top of the Women’s Super League, three points clear of second-placed Chelsea.
