Frank Lampard’s return to Chelsea as an interim manager has been a dismal one, and former footballer Darren Bent believes it could be difficult for him to secure another managerial job. Since his return to Stamford Bridge, Lampard has only managed to lead Chelsea to one victory. Prior to this, he had struggled at Everton, and Bent does not believe he will find success in the job market after this season. Despite Lampard’s efforts to win games, he has been let down by players who he feels he cannot trust. Bent argues that if players are performing poorly, they cannot be played just for the sake of it. However, Andy Goldstein cites examples of managers who have turned around the fortunes of teams with the same group of players. Chelsea have just one game left to play this season, and they currently sit in 12th place in the Premier League table.
