Kylian Mbappe Emerges as Early Favorite in Dream Team’s Euros Fantasy Game

Date:

Kylian Mbappe has emerged as the early favorite among Dream Team’s Euros fantasy game players, featuring in 53.1% of teams. This high level of popularity is a strong indication of the French star’s status ahead of the tournament in Germany. However, Harry Kane is not far behind, with an ownership of 49.9%. The England captain is closely followed by his teammate Jude Bellingham, who features in 48.9% of teams.

Both Mbappe and Kane are the most expensive assets in the game, costing £7.5 million each. Despite their hefty price tags, many managers are willing to invest in these top-tier strikers, allocating 30% of their £50 million budget to have both players in their squad.

Mbappe’s exceptional performance in the last major international tournament, where he won the Golden Boot at the 2022 World Cup, has undoubtedly contributed to his popularity. The 25-year-old has been in outstanding form for Paris Saint-Germain this season, scoring 44 goals and providing ten assists in 47 appearances. He has also been prolific for France, scoring 13 goals in his last 12 outings since taking on the captaincy in March 2023.

Kane, on the other hand, has had an equally impressive campaign leading up to the Euros. Despite Bayern Munich’s failure to win a trophy, the former Tottenham striker has netted 44 goals in as many games in the Bundesliga and Champions League this season, along with 12 assists. Like Mbappe, he also has a World Cup Golden Boot to his name, which he claimed in 2018 with the help of some penalties.

It is clear that both Kane and Mbappe possess top-tier attacking pedigree, making them highly sought after by Dream Team managers. However, it remains to be seen if Mbappe will still be the most-selected player in the game when the tournament kicks off on June 14th.

In general, it is evident that Dream Team managers consider France, England, and Germany as the favorites this summer, as all of the top ten most popular players in the game come from these teams. With unlimited transfers available before Matchday 1, managers have the opportunity to experiment with their squads and make strategic decisions.

Overall, Mbappe and Kane’s popularity highlights their immense talent and the high expectations placed on them for the Euros. Their performances will undoubtedly be closely watched by fans and fantasy football enthusiasts alike.
